The Family that Hunts Squirrels Together...

This photo presents a bit of a puzzle: two young men and a boy have been out hunting squirrels, maybe for dinner? The woman on the far left looks like a grandmother caring for the baby sister. The puzzle is in dating this photo. The bonnets worn by the granny and girl, along with the hat of the little boy, are typical of popular head fashions from the 1870s, while the beret worn by the boy on the right didn't really become popular in America till the 1920s.
